30 resh (head)

Resh connects Hod's concentrated mind-forms with the amplifying magnetic images of Yesod. Resh means 'head' and describes the role played by the mind in our life, the relationship between our thoughts and subconscious. Through Resh the ideal structures of Hod influence the waveforms of Yesod's Akashic Fluid. It is the path indicating how to achieve enlightenment and consciously create our existence on earth. The tarot trump The Sun (below) is associated with Resh, the head. As a great force for good and evil, Yesod needs the guidance and direction by higher principles supplied from the Sun of Tiphareth through Hod. As indicated by the solar symbol of the hexagram both Hod and Yesod are among the sephiroth which are connected with Tiphareth directly. Hod's Glory of the light-filled mind in has a solar impact on Yesod, which is actually created from Hod through this path. Resh is the Collecting Intelligence: The bright ideals and glorious thoughtforms of Hod are assembled to shine on the programming of the Astral Light. This may lead to many forms of solar enlightenment: An increased ability to manifest growth and success, a child-like freedom of creation, discovery of new scientific or astrological truths, transformation of the body's emotional programming or conscious awakening of the Kundalini. However, if the glory of Hod does not confer the light of Tiphareth, the path of Resh may cause us to focus on greedy, materialistic growth forms. A mental arrogance where principles go first will lead to barrenness because it is based on a denial of life. Strong, fiery ideals will cause the yesodic life-waters to boil away. Therefore, Resh will only play its proper role when representing the true and lasting sun, Tiphareth.
