The path of Vau links the
perfect manifestation of Chokmah,
the word which is still in darkness, with the manifested cosmic
ideas displayed in Chesed. Vau is
the process of learning
and teaching cosmic law
also experienced by Enoch, who saw God face to face.
In tarot, Vau is related
to the Hierophant. He passes on the cosmic knowledge of the Priestess
(Gimel), but more directly
and binding as in-tuition, a listening attention towards the universal teacher, the
word of Chokmah.
Vau means nail, the nail
that joins
the spiritual and manifested worlds,
nails spirit to 'the cross of matter' (the four elements) and
thereby, like any religion, reveals the sacred in the everyday.
